There are several ways you can do this:

  1. Note the call number and location of the book and come to the library during our open hours to locate your item by browsing the stacks. You might find several related titles on the shelf while you are there or find some other things in the library you are interested in! Please let a staff member know if you need assistance.

  1. Look up the book in our library search box on the home page of our library website. Be sure to sign in when prompted. Enter a title or subject, search, and select the item you wish to check out. You can request the item while you are online:

  • Once the item page is up, on the left menu under Get It, click Request. The “Send Request” box will appear.

  • Select West Kentucky as the pickup location.

  • Enter a pickup date. Click “Send Request.”

  • The library staff will receive the request, pull the item, and send an email to you with the pickup date.

  1. If you know the item(s) you want to check out, enter a Library Pickup Request linked here, or by clicking that button underneath the search box to get to the online form. Fill out all information and submit. A library staff member will notify you when your item(s) is ready for pickup.

  1. You can also call the library at 270-534-3197 and give the staff member the title and call number of the item. The staff member will pull the item and email you when it is ready for pickup.
